Biography
Hi! My name is Dominic!
I've been drawing since I was four years old! First, I started drawing comic stories on loose paper that I found at home or at my parents’ printer, they were fun and entertaining, usually telling a silly story that would make others laugh. During my first years of Elementary School, I created a series of comics on a band of superheroes based on my brother, my friends, my cat and myself, called The Super Bros, depicting the adventures of a group of kids with superpowers and their cat Kaipo. In 4th grade, my Social Studies teacher assigned to me the job of drawing his history lessons to make the class more enjoyable to the other kids in the future; my drawings made everyone laugh while learning. This teacher, Mr. Mikey, nominated me for the Arlington County Schools Gifted Program on Visual Arts, which opened a lot of doors for me within my community.

I'm very passionate about superheroes and powerful characters good and evil with out-of-this-world powers. I never get tired of drawing these unusual personas and my dream is to take them to life through 3D sculpting and animation. Nowadays, my best work is with shading, especially hatching or cross-hatching.

Through my art clases, courses and wonderful mentors I have evolved from mainly a sketcher to using multiple materials and combining styles. I like to study the human body to make different characters perfectly balanced anatomically speaking, even when seen from a different perspective.

I also enjoy digital media, performing in theatre and video, creating my own costumes, making announcements, commercials and dancing, visual arts are my medium.

I consider myself an artist and I hope to live of my art while making others happy!
